Halloween Pumpkin Cookies That Matter

Halloween Pumpkin Cookies never miss to take a starring role in any Halloween get together. This is one of the reasons why always been around for ages, not only for their great taste and nutritional value, but also for their significance to our tradition.

Here are two Halloween pumpkin cookie recipes that I would like you to try baking:
Halloween Party Pumpkin Cookies

Ingredients:
1 pack Nestle(R) Pumpkin Pal Cookies(standard packing)
1 can vanilla icing
food coloring - orange
orange sprinkles
black sprinkles
1. On the Nestle(R) Pumpkin Pal package, you will find instructions how to cook it. Follow the cooking instructions and once the Pumpkin Pal is done, allow it to cool;
2. Put 5 drops of your orange food coloring in the frosting container. Stir well.
3. Using a smooth butter knife, frost the pumpkin cookies with the orange frosting;
4. Tap your frosted cookies with orange sprinkles. Outline the eyes and mouth of your Halloween Pumpkin Cookies with black sprinkles.
B. Halloween Pumpkin Face Cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup butter, 250 ml size
1/2 cup granulated sugar, 125 ml
1/2 cup brown sugar, 125 ml
1 egg, medium size
1 cup pumpkin puree, 250 ml
2 cups all purpose flour, 500 ml
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 tube of decorator's icing, orange or black
Licorice strings fir stems, brown, if available
Directions:
1. Using a large mixing bowl, mix the butter, the granulated sugar, and the brown sugar. Stir until it becomes creamy. Add the egg to the mixture while stirring, then add the pumpkin puree. Stir for a minute more;
2. Use another bowl to mix the flour, cinnamon, ginger, baking powder and baking soda. Add these to the butter mixture in the other bowl in small portions while stirring.
3. Refrigerate the dough for about an hour until it becomes hard enough to hold. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F then line two cookie sheets with parchment paper;
4. Roll the dough to form approximately 1-1/2 inch balls and place these on the cookie sheet at a distance of about 1 inch from each other. Bake these for 12 minutes, but see to it that the cookie is spongy yet firm. Once done, remove the cookies sheets. Prepare your decorations while you let the cookies cool for about 20 minutes;
5. With the use of the decorator's icing, draw on each cookie a jack-o-lantern face. Attach a short licorice string to the cookie to make it look like a stem.
