Learn How To Detox From Sugar After Halloween

I feel so lousy this morning. I got involved with the kids and their Halloween candy last night, and I am so sorry that I did. It seemed so harmless at the time....
I know I need to learn how to detox from sugar because this morning, it feels like I went out drinking with my Penn State College buddies! And had a drinking contest to see who could down the most beers in an hour! That's what it feels like anyway. My head hurts. My stomach is queasy. I have no energy. And I have a killer jammed pack schedule to get through. What was I thinking?
Hind sight is 20-20 and I can't take it back! Just file away in my memory bank so I don't fall down that same trap again. In the meantime, how am I going to get through today?

Tacfit Commando Review - Scott Sonnon's Military Fitness Program Review

The Tacfit Commando fitness program is not your "run of the mill" workout program. It is less focused upon getting you to look better but more on getting you to a whole new physical ability level.
The program is the creation of Scott Sonnon, noted trainer, and is used by various elite outfits all over the world, including units in the Israeli army, anti-terrorism squads, bodyguards, law enforcement agencies, and martial art fighters.
These guys care less about getting huge muscles than they do about getting their body to perform at the top most level and be able to push themselves to greater heights of ability. In many cases, their job not only requires it, their life may depend on it too.

White Contact Lenses Not Just For Halloween

The color of the iris portion of the human eye is either: brown, green, gray, blue, or a combination of colors, such as amber or hazel. The only part of the eye that is naturally white is the sclera. So when people encounter a person whose complete eye appears 'white', they might be grossed out. There is no need for such a reaction, as 'white eyes' are not the result of any strange medical conditions but rather white contact lenses. What are white contact lenses? White contact lenses are special types of color contacts that make the eye appear white. They come in three different varieties: those with no special effects, those that glow in the dark and those that cover the entire eye, blinding it.
The most common white contacts are those that contain no special effects. They cover only the iris, allowing the pupil, (the black circle part of the eye), to still show. These types of contact lenses can cover any type of iris, even those that are naturally very dark. Appearance-wise, while they are white, they are usually not as white as the sclera surrounding the iris. In essence, they just make the eye look like it has a very light-colored iris.

Be Frugal - It's Easier Than You Think to Make Your Own Halloween Mummy!

How to Make a Halloween Mummy
Hanging pretend thick spider webs and home-made lanterns using Halloween pumpkins have become traditional, but here is an original way to decorate your home for your Halloween party. Try to remember to save all of your old newspapers before Halloween since you will need a large number to make your mummy. Make all the body parts from newspaper and tape everything together. If you have some bandages, wrap them around the body parts, but don't worry if you think bandages are too expensive as you can use white toilet paper. Obviously plain white toilet paper, which is very effective, provided you don't use paper with a flowery design as this will ruin the ghostly effect.

Halloween Costumes and Halloween Culture in Norway

In Norway people dress up in their "Halloween-kostymer". But they surely are not too familiar with history behind the party.
Halloween has history traces back to the Celtics in Ireland and their ancient religion. The Celtic people were pretty conscious of the spiritual world and created their own ideas of how they could access to it - such as by helping their more than 300 gods to crush their enemies in battle, or by doing imitations of the gods by showing cleverness and cunning skills.
The Celtics had two big feasts, in the beginning of summer they have Beltane (May 1), and in the end of summer they celebrate Samhain (Nov. 1). They truly believed that Samhain was a time when the split between the two worlds became very slim, and dangerous, supernatural troublemakers were active and spirits were free to wander wherever they felt like.
During this small period, the normal order of the universe was forgotten, and the natural and the supernatural gets its barriers temporarily removed, the side lies open and all unknown beings and the spirits of the dead wander freely among men and sometimes interfere violently, in their affairs.
Some Celtic priests carried out the rituals were called Druids, and were members of pagan orders in Britain, Ireland and Gaul. They generally performed their rituals with offering sacrifices, mostly of crops and animals, but even sometimes of humans, just in order to please the gods to ensure that the sun would return in the end of the winter and also frightening away evil spirits.
Norwegians dress up this day as ghosts, marvel-heroes, pirates and others. But, do the Norwegians know what really happened? I do not think so. When joining this private party at my friends I actually asked most of the participants joining the party if they knew the history of Halloween. In fact many did not know. Despite so many people connecting now with this tradition in Norway, this is fairly not as known as it should be.
I am very fascinated with these traditions, and would like more Norwegians to know about the history. I have made a web-page where I am including as much relevant information about the topic that I can find.

The Best Interactive Kids Cooking Games

Parents warn their children about the dangers of unsupervised cooking in the kitchen, however, some games offer safe and fun online interactive kids cooking games for the entire family. As an added bonus, the games are educational and informative. Whether learning the basics of how to bake seasonal treats including Halloween cupcakes, pumpkin rolls, or Banoffee pie, kids enjoy the games and parents appreciate their educational value.
Pumpkin Rolls
Pumpkin Rolls, a fall dessert delicacy, is among one of the favorite kids cooking games. The game is not only educational, but it also sharpens children's coordination and dexterity skills. The game begins with a presentation of a colorful counter top of ingredients. Kids start the game by following each step of adding each item into a bowl.
Following the instructions and arrow, kids learn to follow a sequence of objectives to accomplish their goal. Once the ingredients are added to the bowl, kids must then use the mixer to stir items together. While easier to use than an actual mixer found in the kitchen, kids must use precise movements when using utensils to stir the items in the bowl.
The next objective is to bake the pumpkin rolls, followed by wrapping the roll into the cheese cloth and blending together ingredients for the creamy filling. Finally, kids must roll up their yummy dessert and cut it into individual slices to complete the task, and successfully finish the game.
Halloween Cupcakes
Halloween Cupcakes is another popular kids cooking games. Kids are instructed to follow the recipe and measure the ingredients required to bake cupcakes. The game teaches kids math skills when calculating measurements to add to the ingredients to the batter. Problem solving is another skill kids learn from playing the game as they must figure out how to successfully complete a task before moving on.
The game also encourages creativity. Kids truly appreciate the fact they can apply their creativity skills when decorating the finished cupcakes. With a variety of Halloween-themed candy, kids can decorate cupcakes to suit their personalized taste!
Banoffee Pie
Banoffee pie is also a favorite online interactive kids cooking game. The game is an ideal educational tool for sharpening math skills, problem solving, time allocation, and following directions to successfully complete a task. Kids are presented with numerous kitchen utensils, food items and a stovetop.
In order to advance in the game, kids must read the displayed instructions and proceed to follow step-by-step directions. When preparing the pie, kids must allocate time for a couple of steps before proceeding with the game. Once each of the steps has been successfully completed, the educational game ends with Banoffee pie being served.
The interactive online kids cooking games are a favorite among both parents and children. Parents welcome the values of learning how to follow directions to complete a task, honing coordination skills and focuses on problem-solving abilities. Children appreciate the bright cheerful colors while virtually preparing one of their favorite desserts. The kids cooking games are a great way to spend quality time together as a family!

Ideas For Halloween Recipes

Halloween is the one time of year when a sweettooth can be satisfied without guilt, for adults and children alike. Halloween candy may often come prepackaged, but it can also come homemade, and indeed, some of the best and most memorable Halloween treats have come from a fresh, original batch of home baking.
The interesting thing about Halloween recipes is that while many are able to bake at this simple level, it does require a reasonable amount of originality and creative flair to make any normal candy into exciting Halloween candy. There are many things to consider, and this article will detail some of the key elements involved in Halloween recipes and what can be done to make Halloween recipes extra thrilling.
The first thing to keep in mind is the coloring - of course, the thing that makes Halloween recipes so recognizable is the coloring - the orange and black invokes strong nostalgic feelings for adults. Of course, this is not an absolute rule, but it can't hurt to have orange and black food coloring to hand for dough and icing recipes.
Cookies are predictable, but tested and true. A good sugar cookie with a fun scary design, such as a spider or a ghost (using the Halloween colors, of course) is a great way to get into the spirit of the season. If cookies aren't exciting enough, boiled hard candy can be a very fun cooking experiment for adults and kids to do together - this may take some practice to get right, but the whole neighborhood will be enamored with these unique little candy gems.
Interestingly, cooking for Halloween does not have to entail sugary, candy-themed Halloween recipes. For adult parties, it would be a good idea to have a contrasting selection of treats that include savory treats. The key, again, is to recall coloring - the simple process of coloring simple, every day foods really brings the Halloween spirit to the party. One good example is Halloween deviled eggs. Once the yolk paste has been prepared in a bowl, covering them with a layer of orange coloring and then sprinkling them with black pepper will achieve the desired effect of grown up Halloween treats.
With so much Halloween candy in the stores, it would be a shame if many people gave up on cooking for the Halloween fun, as there is more room to be fun and creative with this seasonal cooking than most other seasonal cooking events. It is also a fantastic time to spark the imagination of children and get them involved in cooking from a young age.
Halloween is a time where you can go wild with your imagination in the kitchen are there's very few ways in which you can go wrong. If you make a cake and it turns out to be crooked or look weird, you can pretend it was meant to be like that! You can spice things up with weird ingredients that will excite and enthrall your kids and guests.

Halloween Cooking - Party Theme Tips

Creating a great Halloween-themed party is much easier than people think! Here are a few tips you can implement in your Halloween Cooking and Halloween party throwing in order to liven up the setting and create a great, spooky environment to host in.

An Easy Way to Prepare Frosting For Halloween Cupcakes

Halloween is not complete without Halloween cupcakes, and cupcakes are not cupcakes without proper frosting! Believe it or not, Halloween cupcakes form an integral part of not just the Halloween party but also all the festivals that take place in autumn. You can find everything you need to make the cupcakes from your local store, but if you are very particular about the ingredients or components, then you should prepare them yourself.
In fact, many households avoid purchasing the materials from stores and prefer to make them in their own homes instead! In this article I will tell you how to put frosting on the Halloween cupcakes the easy way!
You don't need to be an expert cook to do this, and it is not too hard either! All you need is a little motivation, a passion for cooking delicious goodies, and the right kind of materials, and you will see how easy it is to create the frosting for your Halloween cupcakes! In fact, you will end up having a better frosting than what you get from your store, thanks to the tips I am going to share with you in this article!
1. Tools of the trade: First of course, you need the right tools, as I said previously. You need a blender, a bowl, a measuring cup, an electric mixer, and a teaspoon.
For ingredients, you need two cups of powdered sugar, eight teaspoons of butter, two egg yolks and half-a-cup of powered cocoa. If you are health conscious, you may want to use margarine instead of butter, but obviously, butter would make the frosting more delicious!
Apart from this, you will also need milk and a teaspoon of vanilla flavor! Once you gather all these items in one place, now it is time to start the actual cooking process!
2. The recipe: Now it is time to put together all the components that would enable you to make a truly spectacular and delicious frosting for your Halloween cupcakes! You should not also forget to make the frosting scary and ghoulish; after all, Halloween is all about scaring others, right?
Put the butter or margarine (whichever you prefer) on the bowl. Use your electric mixer to mix the butter in a way that it becomes somewhat fluffy. Now it is time to put the egg yolks in your bowl; don't forget to pour the milk too in your bowl at this time! Once you are done, put the remaining ingredients in your pan: cocoa and sugar!
Now you are almost finished! All that remains now is to pour the remaining butter in the bowl, and then throw all of the ingredients on to it, along with the vanilla flavor, and mix the whole thing well. You should keep blending the ingredients together until you have gotten the perfect mix you want for your Halloween cupcake frosting!
Didn't I say it is easy?

Healthy Halloween Food, Decorations and Costumes

Having healthy Halloween food, decorations and costumes does not have to be an oxymoron. It is possible to have a fun Halloween and still have a healthy lifestyle.
Here are a few tips:
1. Never send the kids out trick or treating without a healthy meal first. The temptation is greater when stomachs are empty!
2. Instead of candy, try passing out small boxes of raisins, small packages of pretzels, organic fruit snacks, Halloween stickers, pencils, spider rings or other small toys. Many of these small toys go on say right after Halloween. So, be on the lookout and stock-up for next season!
3. Determine BEFORE trick-or-treating how much candy your children may eat. For example, make a rule that each child may have 3 pieces of candy as soon as they arrive home and then put the candy out of sight. Determine how much is allowed the following days as an after school treat or after dinner dessert. (And while you are at it, make a rule that YOU are not sneaking any of your children's candy this year either!)
4. Make your Halloween "green" by using natural products such as pumpkins, gourds, and corn husks for decorating instead of plastic or paper decorations.
5. Avoid face-paint, nail polishes, colored hairsprays and other items that may contain high levels of lead and other toxic ingredients. (See the Environmental Working Group's website for a complete list at http://www.ewg.org/healthyhometips/halloweentips )
6. Make fun Halloween recipes from healthy foods like carrot finger-food, a melon brain or apple slice teeth! Find all these recipes and more here: http://familyfun.go.com/halloween/best-halloween-recipes-786790/view-all/
Remember, Halloween should be a fun for the whole family and can build memories for a lifetime. So, enjoy the day and remember to take plenty of pictures!

Halloween can wreak havoc with your weight

Halloween can wreak havoc with your weight, blood sugar levels and dental health. Here are my Top10 Tips for healthy eating at Halloween.
 • Instead of candy, buy Halloween toys for treats. Small, inexpensive toys like Halloween pencils, mini balls, stickers, vampire teeth, spider rings and other fun novelties are great fun for kids. Halloween toys can cost as little as 5 or 10 cents each, so you don't need to spend more money than you do on candy. Toys won't tempt you to break your diet; don't contain food allergens like some candies; and extras can be stored for next year. You can even buy Halloween toothbrushes to give out as treats!
 • Do not buy candy early in the month. The more time candy is sitting in your cupboard, the more willpower you will need to have. Too many people buy candy early, only to discover most of it has been eaten before the trick or treaters come around.
 • Buy brands of candy you do NOT like. Every one has different tastes, and the trick or treat gatherers may love a type of candy you do not like. You face less temptation this way.
 • Do not let your kids skip dinner before they go out trick or treating. They will eat more candy and junk to fill up and will be lacking the protein necessary in their diet.
 • Limit trick or treating time. The more time trick or treating = the more houses = the more candy = the more total calories and sugar your child (family) will consume.
 • After you have checked through the candy to make sure it is safe, let your child pick out 3 or 4 pieces to eat. Throw out any candy that looks questionable. Store the rest of the collected candy in a container and put it on a high shelf. Let your child have 1 or 2 pieces a day until the candy is gone.
 • Take some of the candy, like Smarties or M & M's, and store them separately for baking use. Next time your child has a birthday, or needs to make cupcakes for school, you can use these colourful candies for decorations.
 • Not all of the candy has to be eaten. Throw some out as the weeks go by and the child is less focused on the treats from Halloween.
 • Make sure your child balances candy with proper food. Provide a healthy snack like fruit, yogurt, crackers and cheese, etc. when your child comes home hungry. They will be less likely to binge on candy if they are not starving.
 • There are fun and healthy foods that are associated with Halloween. Pull out and roast the seeds from the pumpkins when you are carving them. Take advantage of the apples, squash, tomatoes and vegetables in season. Turn the focus from candy to the wonderful harvest foods that are available this time of year.
Changing focus from candy to activities, crafts and games, will help your child associate Halloween with more than just collecting sweets. Setting a good example and learning nutrition facts can help you ensure that Halloween is not so scary for your family's health.

Healthy Alternative to Halloween Candy

Halloween is an exciting time for children. They love dressing up in costumes, trick-or-treating and getting a large supply of goodies all in one night. However, beware of cavities! Halloween candy and any sticky, sugary food and drinks can easily promote tooth decay. Halloween treats don't have to be sticky, hard or gooey candy to be fun. Instead fill them up with healthy alternatives such as pretzels, granola bars or sugar free gum. Or pass out non-food treats such as pencils, stickers or small toys.

Don't Let Halloween Spook Away Your Healthy Eating Habits

If your family traditionally passes out candy to neighborhood trick-or-treaters you've probably been stocking up on bags upon bags of candy in preparation of the occasion. Or maybe you've purchased a few bags just because of the fancy decorative displays in the supermarkets near the registers and couldn't avoid the temptation.
Regardless, as Halloween approaches it's extremely important to maintain some restraint especially for those of you focusing on eating healthier and losing weight. The month of October should not turn into a candy-fest with daily munching on chocolate bar after bar just because you have bags of candy in your possession. Sure enjoy a couple of pieces once in awhile, but if you find yourself devouring 10-20 mini candies every day, then restraint must be instilled as soon as possible before you find an additional 5 pounds on your body and wonder where that extra weight came from.

Keep Your Skin Healthy Under That Halloween Mask

Just go to any department store and you'll find the sure tale signs that Halloween is almost here. There are costumes, makeup, and lots and lots of candy ready to be bought and handed out. Just remember that one night of scary costumes can have a bad effect on your skin. This is especially true if you are considering using makeup to turn yourself into that ghoulish zombie on Halloween.

Saving Tips For Halloween Fancy Dress

Shopping for fancy dresses for Halloween is a bit tricky but it is definitely fun. With every dress you find, you imagine yourself wearing it. However if you don't have enough budget, shopping is trickier. But it is not impossible to find great costumes when you have limited budget. In fact if you take the tips below into consideration you might even save more than what you expect.

Halloween Costume Ideas Using Sexy Lingerie

It's that time of the year again when creativity is most required. For children, old pillowcases can turn them into the freakiest-looking scarecrow or a friendly country ghost for Halloween but for adult women, sexy lingerie is pretty much the base material for a great number of costume ideas and not just raunchy costumes that would have "werewolves" howling, but even the seriously Halloween-themed ones.

Celebrating Halloween in the 21st century for a woman means that it is the one night of the year you can walk through the streets in skimpy lingerie and as long as you have animal ears or a nurse's hat on, you can say it's just a Halloween costume.

Finding Ideas for Sexy Halloween Costumes

When looking for sexy Halloween costume ideas, most simply people think of nightgowns, maid outfits or teddies for women and pirates or vampires for men. There are many other possibilities, of course and with a little imagination and pre-planning, you can come up with something no one else at the party will have.
Here are some areas to think about when planning your costume:

History of Halloween

Most people think of Halloween today as simply a day when children dress up in costumes and go from home to home to "trick or treat" and collect enough candy to make any parent cringe. Halloween was much more significant in ancient times, however. October 31st was a very important day to the ancient Celts of Ireland, Scotland and Great Britain. No kidding around in costumes and trick or treat bags; Halloween was much more serious to the non-Christian Cults a thousand years ago.
Halloween remains a popular day in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, Ireland, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Children get to dress up in their favorite costumes and ring doorbells throughout their neighborhood to collect as much candy as possible. In the United States' Halloween is the second most popular holiday (after Christmas) for decorating and reaps a huge financial bounty of retail selling of frightening costumes to children and adults alike, decorations and candy. But for eons, the history of Halloween encompased ancient beliefs about the world - both living and dead.
Understanding the history of Halloween can perhaps help you decide what to let your children take part in, and what to keep your children away from. Also, knowing the origin of Halloween and its history can also help Christians view the adult, youth, and child activities associated with Halloween celebrations in the light of Christ's truth.

How to Choose the Perfect Halloween Custome!

Halloween is a fun holiday where people can pretend to be something they're not. This holiday falls on October 31st every year. During this holiday people often go out and purchase Halloween costumes to help them feel like something or someone else. Halloween costumes vary in type, size, color, price, etc. Some people like to pretend they're princesses others like to be super heroes.
When Halloween time rolls around people can go out to their local Halloween store and begin browsing this year's costumes. It seems every year there is a new, popular costume. A lot of times it has a lot to do with current movies that are out. Last year super hero costumes were very popular because of the movies that had come out that summer. Some of those popular costumes were Superman, Batman, and Hulk.
When searching for a Halloween Costume you really do have so many options. You can go with a serious costume or a humorous costume. This will all depend on where and when you decide to wear your costume. If it is a work or school costume party then you may have a theme or have to follow certain rules. If your child just needs a costume for trick or treating then they could choose whatever costume they would like.

Who Else Wants the Power of the Ninja Costumes?

Halloween is a great time of year for kids and adults. It's always fun to decorate your house and have parties. Dressing up is the best part of Halloween. Finding the right costume for your personality can be easy if you give yourself options. One cool type of costume that is great for girls and boys are costumes ninja. Most people associate ninjas with little boys but girls can also have a lot of fun dressing up as a ninja. You can find a lot of different ninjas online for children as well as for adults depending on what your looking for.
You might think that ninjas are self explanatory but the options are actually pretty elaborate. Some types of costumes ninja for boys are GI Joe, teenage mutant ninja turtles, or shadow ninjas are also cool. Girls can easily be pretty and still be a ninja. One ninja that is really cute for a girl is a jade ninja. If your little girl wants to dress up as a dragon ninja she can easily do that too. Ninjas usually have their faces covered so a boy or a girl could disguise themselves and no one would know who they were.

Halloween Fairy Tale Costumes for Your Little Princess

Halloween is a time of merriment for each and every person. Everybody is wearing a costume and acquires a new personality during this holiday. Yet, by far the most excited are the children, who can finally look like their favourite characters from stories and cartoons. Some want to be princes and princesses and others want to be ghosts, while some want to be Batman or Superman.
Girls usually want to look pretty, so dresses are by far the best option for them. Even though this is not a feature which will narrow down your search very much, it will still help you get rid of those costumes which include pants, so it should be easier for you and your little one to navigate through the hundreds of costumes available.
Those who want to stick to the tradition of Halloween yet do not want a creepy costume, but rather a cute, pink outfit can stick to the witch-themed costume and purchase a good witch costume. It is pink, the perfect colour for a fresh, little girl, it has that princess-like appearance which girls love so much, it is traditional, yet you will not risk bumping into hundreds of girls wearing the same costume, like you would if you went for one of princess costumes or for a ghost costume. In addition to that, you will also be able to use the costume for theatre plays and other similar manifestations and your little one will most certainly get positive comments there too.

 • Never purchase contact lenses from a supplier that does not require a prescription. That includes salons, tattoo parlors, flea markets, or costume shops. Even if you don't need contacts for vision correction, a prescription spells out the proper fitting requirements for your eyes. Proper fit means no moving around and rubbing on the eye surface that can cause infections and permanent damage if left untreated. Seriously...the exam is quick and inexpensive and is well worth the time to protect your sight.
 • Purchase only Halloween lenses that have been manufactured by FDA approved contact lens specialists. THIS IS IMPORTANT, as many theatrical lenses are being illegally imported from foreign countries that do not follow FDA manufacturing safety requirements. Some of the best contact lens manufacturers who also make Halloween contact lenses are: Ciba Vision (Wild Eyes), Cooper Vision (Crazy Lenses), and Softlens Technology (Gothika). The best deals are from high quality online suppliers. Be sure to check out discounts and free shipping offers.
 • Never wear you lenses to sleep, even if it's just a nap.
 • Never wear your Halloween lenses longer than 8 hours. Take a lens case and solution with you to the party. If your eyes feel irritated or if you've had your contacts in for 8 hours, take them out.
 • Never share your Halloween contacts with anyone, ever! You'll look so cool that your friends will ask to try them on. Don't do it. There is no quicker way to spread a serious eye infection.
 • Don't spit on your lenses to clean them. This seems like a no-brain-er, but I've seen people actually do this, then pop them back into their eyes! How gross is that.
 • Always wash and rinse your hands before handling or inserting your lenses.
That's it. Follow these simple guidelines and you'll be the hit of the party. (Hope you win the costume contest!)

Top 7 Ways to Lose Weight Before Halloween

Everyone knows that Halloween and the weeks leading up to it is just the beginning of the extended "holiday" period where most of us put on our extra weight. As soon as someone cracks open that first bag of "candy corn", you know that you are in trouble and your diet will soon be falling apart. So, here are a few tips that will help you to lose weight ahead of the holidays and to keep on track when everyone else is pigging out.
1. If you work in an office where there is always a bowl of candy, a tray of cookies, or people are always handing out treats, then make sure that you always have something else in your mouth, such as gum, a piece of sugarless candy, or even a toothpick. This will help you from mindlessly picking up food while you are walking around, which can lead to more calories than you might think.

Some Healthful Tricks for Your Treats - Healthy Halloween

If you're on a diet during Halloween, good luck. There's almost no way you can resist eating fun-sized candies in front of the TV all month long. Not only is it terribly convenient to have six aisles at the grocery store dedicated to everything sweet, but Halloween can make you feel like a kid and nothing feels more "kid-ish" than throwing caution to the wind and stuffing your face full of candy. But beware, behind each sugary bite is a price to pay. Don't do yourself in just yet, there's still Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner.
Though these candies are miniaturized for trick-or-treating it doesn't mean they are completely harmless. Most miniature candies don't carry a nutrition label, so you won't be able to keep track of your calories. The best way to keep your diet on track is to do some research beforehand.

How to Survive Halloween With Diabetic Children

Celebrating Halloween with diabetic children need not be a health disaster if you plan ahead. Safety is the number concern for all children at this time of the year.
The first step is to eat a good meal before the children go out to trick-or-treat.
The second step is to instruct the children that they are not eat any of the treats before they get home. At home the lighting is better and you can inspect the treats better.
The third step is dressing your child for Halloween. Make sure that they can see without obstruction (the mask does not cover the eyes).
The fourth step is to be sure to take a picture of your child with your digital camera before you leave home. And put ID into the child's pocket. Both of these measures will help you find your child should they become lost.
The fifth step is to carry a flashlight and extra batteries. Being seen is one of the most important steps to preventing pedestrian accidents.
The sixth step is to portion the candy out to the child slowly at home. Many treats have 15 grams of carbohydrates:
           Starburst (4 pieces)
          Candy corn (11 pieces)
          Reese's pieces (30 pieces)
          M & Ms (1/2 package)
The seventh step is to make some treats at home that not carbohydrate busters. One is orange or grape popcorn.
Air pop 6 cups of popcorn. In large bowl stir together 2 ½ Tablespoon margarine and 1 teaspoon sugar free gelatin (grape or orange). Mix in the popcorn. Toss to mix thoroughly. Serving per one cup is 1 bread and 1 fat.
The key to a safe and healthy Halloween is planning. Stay safe and enjoy your holiday.

Halloween Made Easy

Many costumes are convenient enough to have room for shoes to fit underneath the costume, keeping the impeccable design of the costume untarnished. For those other costumes, homemade or handed down, think outside the shoe. Finding colored cloth to match the costume to put over the shoe is an easy out proving to be cheap and simple. For the "Princesses" of the trick-or-treaters, this can prove to be a little harder. To fix up the comfortable walking shoe stick on some jewels, ribbons, or bows on the cloth placed over the shoe. This cloth on the shoe can also be used as a safety device for your little goblin. Along with decorations on the cloth you can also glue, stick, or place on some reflective strips to keep your child safe while walking on the dark roads. The little ones, with the right shoe, will increase their happiness, stamina, and candy collection. Not only do the children need good shoes, taking care of your own feet will help you keep up with your little pumpkin and increase your patience.

Happy, Joyful Halloween!

This Halloween, do something completely different! Be bold! Wear Color! Be Beautiful! Shine! Smile! No one will recognize you! You will be the hit of the party!
All year, we are surrounded by people wearing black jackets, black pants, black sweaters, black tights, black skirts. Sadly, black maternity clothes, black children's clothes, black birthday balloons, black bedrooms, black yoga mats, even black flowers. Black flowers?
When Hallowed eve comes around, (the evening before the day of the dead), what are we going to wear? Black just doesn't stand out anymore. The novelty has worn off.
It used to be that if someone dear passed away, black was worn as a symbol of mourning. Now, it is just a symbol of hum-drum everyday life.

Indoor Halloween Games - Have Some Spooky Fun at Halloween

When Halloween comes, kids get excited and want to have fun. There are lots of different indoor Halloween games that they can play. Some are active games and some are quiet games.
Whether you are planning a party or just want to keep a few kids occupied at Halloween, you have a wide variety of games to choose from and luckily many of them are games that can be played without a lot of preparation.
Spook Spotter
If you have a large group you might like to try a game of Spook Spotter. This is one of those indoor Halloween games that is actually a very quiet game to play.
To start the game, the children stand in a circle. One child is chosen to be the Spook Spotter. The Spook Spotter leaves the room or turns his/her back while a child from the circle is chosen to be Spook. Spook chooses the repetitive, rhythmic movements that everyone will make without moving from their places. Movements might include, floating ghost like movements, jerky zombie movements, witch on a broomstick movements, witch stirring a brew action. Encourage Spook to be creative with his/her actions.
Once everyone is copying Spook's action, the Spotter returns to the room and starts to observe the group. The Spook Spotter's job is to guess who Spook is in three guesses. Spook changes the actions as often as possible without being seen by the Spotter. Everyone follows copying Spook's actions. After three guesses or when the Spook Spotter guesses Spook's identity, a new game begins with a new Spotter and a new Spook being chosen.
Children may need to be encouraged not to look at Spook as this will give the game away to the Spotter. Instead they can scan the group and change movements when they notice others changing their movements.
Halloween Whispers
This is another of the indoor Halloween games that can be played with a large group. It is a version of the game Chinese Whispers. To start with, have all of the children write one spooky sentence on a piece of paper. Don't let them show their sentence to anyone else and the supervisor collects the sentences.
The children sit in a circle and the supervisor gives one of the sentences to a child in the circle. This child reads the sentence and whispers it the person beside them who then whispers it the next person. This continues around the circle until it reaches the last person who then tells the group what the sentence is. By this time the sentence has usually changed considerably and there will be lots of laughter as the distorted version is told to the group.
Halloween Bingo
There are also some indoor Halloween games that kids can be involved in preparing. Halloween bingo can be played by large or small groups. Create a list of Halloween words and let the children make their own Bingo cards with these words. They can use a 3 x 3 grid and write nine of the words on the grid. This way there can be two winners. The first winner can be the one who gets a row of three first and the next winner can be the one who completes their card first.
Outlined above are a few indoor Halloween games that kids always enjoy. Give them a try and see how you go. Best of all they don't require much in the way of preparation so you'll be ready to play in no time at all.

In recent years, Halloween has become a very popular holiday. The best part is that you don't even have to be a kid to have fun. With the rise in popularity of adult Halloween parties, even adults can enjoy this holiday. Going to a dress up party is a chance to dress up and have some fun. If you are going to a party with a friend or your significant other, you may want to think about a couple,s costume.
If you want a matching costume set, you are in lucky. There are many different types of couple's costumes available. In fact, there are so many options that you don't have to worry about going to a party dressed the same as someone else.
What Kinds Of Costumes Should You Choose?
It can be difficult to actually pick a costume. You may want to get started by thinking about a famous couple you'd like to be for the evening. Even if you aren't into the Hollywood scene, you will still have plenty of options to pick. For example, you may want to go as Snow White and Prince Charming or Sampson and Delilah.
If you do like movies and television, the options are almost limitless. You may want to go as Catwoman and a police officer or the Daredevil and Elektra. If you are an animation fan, you may want to go as Spongebob Squarepants and Sandy Cheeks. Or, perhaps you may want to go as Underdog and Polly Pureheart.
Where To Buy Costumes?
If you live in a large urban area, you may have access to many different types of stores that sell Halloween costumes. Even if this is the case, you may still have trouble finding the costume that you want. For this reason, you may want to start shopping online. Of course, shopping online is very convenient too. You can shop any time you want from the comfort of your own home. You will find that the sky is certainly the limit when you start looking for costumes online. There is no doubt that you will find couple's costumes that you had never even considered!

Many stores offer excellent deals like free shipping or buy one get one offers. In addition, some stores have a special section devoted just to couple's costumes.
Before purchasing your costume online, be sure to size your costume correctly. In addition, check the return policy. Some stores may charge you a small re-stocking fee if you decide to return the costume. If you have any questions, you can call the company's customer service line or take advantage of the online chat option that many online stores offer. Remember to shop early for the best costume selection!
By following the advice in this article, you and your significant other are sure to be the talk of the party. Have fun!
